Try-Outs

Sports Try-Outs

At OCS, we encourage students to try out for school sports. We are upfront with how the try-out process works. Most OCS teams have between 10-15 spots (depending on the sport) and there can be 30-plus students trying out for a spot on the team. That means there are more students who don’t make the team than those who do.

Trying out for an OCS varsity team

Some of our OCS teams have “reserves,” players invited to participate in practices but will not attend a tournament unless a roster player is injured or sick prior to the event date. Reserve players provide younger students an opportunity to practice with the team and develop their skills, so they are better equipped for the next year’s try-outs.

Please read our try-out policy so you can discuss the process with your child before they attend any practices.

If you have any questions, please contact our Athletic Director at athletics@oakvillechristianschool.com
