Teachers & Administration

Mr. Jolin has been with us since 1994. He has an honours degree in Fine Arts (studio) and is the art teacher for our senior grades. He was the first basketball coach at OCS and continues to be actively involved in our athletic program.

Mrs. Wilson has been an active part of our OCS community for many years and now serves as Director of Admissions. Her strong communication skills enable her to understand the needs of parents seeking the best education for their children, responding to their inquiries with clarity and honesty. Mrs. Wilson has an Honours Degree in Religious Studies from the University of Waterloo.

Ms. Davis has been working at OCS since November 2019. She holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans (USA) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Accounting from the University of the West Indies (Jamaica).  She has a number of years experience in Accounting and Business Management.

Mrs. Hartwig joined OCS in 2005 with several years of administrative experience. She continues to support daily operations in the main office, helping ensure that everything is running as smoothly as possible.   She loves working in a school environment where she can serve and interact with students from JK-Grade 8.

Allison Linka began her journey at OCS volunteering almost 20 years ago. She has since been an OCS parent herself, with her twin boys attending from JK through Grade 8. Mrs. Linka has a background in Early Childhood Education and loves working with children. She has been a valuable addition to the administrative team and now enjoys putting her administrative skills to work.

Mrs. McKee has been with OCS since 2015.  As a previous student, this school has always felt like home. She has an honours degree from Western University and received her teaching degree from Nipissing University.

Mrs. Strickland joined the staff of OCS in 2022 where she enjoys teaching grade 1 students. She has a Christian School Education degree from Heritage College and Seminary and a Bachelor of Education from Tyndale University.

Mrs. Pienaar graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, with a B.Ed degree. She was a teacher in London, UK, for 12 years. The Pienaar family immigrated from South Africa to Canada in 2018.

Mrs. Black has been teaching at OCS since 1985. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English at McMaster University and her Bachelor of Education from Western University. She has earned her specialist certificates in both Primary Education and Special Education.

Mrs. van den Berg has a B.MUS Honours degree specializing in music education and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. She joined OCS in 2022 and is grateful for the opportunity to teach (and serve others) at such a wonderful school.

Mr. Freeland graduated with a Masters of Teaching from the University of Toronto in 2019. He began teaching at OCS in 2020. He is also a leader in our chapel and house teams and has been a wonderful addition to our teaching community.

Mrs. Wheaton has been with us since 2014. She has an honours degree from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Ontario. She is a sports enthusiast and enjoys coaching both ultimate frisbee and basketball.

Mrs. Gough joined OCS in 2012 and thoroughly enjoys her role as Grade 5 teacher. She has a Double Honours in French and Communications from Laurier University and a Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Wollongong in Australia.

Roxanne Olé has been teaching at OCS since 1999 and is the Junior Division Head. She holds degrees in counselling, history, and education. She organizes a yearly Heritage Fair and leads the school’s Model UN club.

Mr. Keddy joined us in September 2020 and feels blessed to be part of our community. We feel blessed to have him! Mr. Keddy earned degrees from McMaster University and Brock University. He comes to us with teaching experience from around the world.

Ms. DeWeerd has a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education from Nipissing University and a Bachelors of Education from Redeemer University. She enjoys teaching grade 7 and the ability to walk alongside her students as they grow in their learning, their faith and their understanding of who they are becoming as individuals.

Mrs. Fusilli joined the OCS teaching community in 2015. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Houghton College and a Masters of Education from Roberts Wesleyan. As a former music director at the high school level, Mrs. Fusilli is passionate about music and loves to see that same excitement grow in her students.

Mrs. McMullen has been at OCS since 2014 and has taught a variety of subject areas and grades over the years. She has an honours degree in Music Education and Mathematics and is currently teaching French to the primary students and Mathematics in the senior division. She enjoys playing and coaching soccer and volleyball. 

Madame Fouad attended York University where she completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in French Studies as well as a Bachelor of Education degree.  She has been at OCS since 2023; she started teaching French in the primary grades and is currently teaching grades 4-8 French.  In addition to her passion for spreading the love of French language learning, she also enjoys singing and leading worship.

Mrs. Roberts has been with OCS since 2007. She has a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree from Redeemer University College in Physical Education and a minor in visual art. Mrs. Roberts attended Brock University for both her Bachelor of Education and her Masters in Education. Her favourite sports to coach and play are ultimate frisbee and ringette (floor hockey).

Mr. Rutledge started teaching at OCS in 2022. He graduated from Redeemer University majoring in Physical Education and Religion/Theology, with a minor in Psychology and Mathematics. He received his Bachelors of Education at the University of Canterbury located in New Zealand.

Mrs. Simao has taught at OCS since 2005. She has a BA in French and Sociology, Montessori Casa Teacher training, a BADED (in process), an MED in Assessment and Language Teaching and Orton Gillingham Educator training. In this role Mrs. Simao works with students on Type III investigations and on the development of needed skills.

Mrs. Newson has an Honours Bachelor in Kinesiology from Western University and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toronto.  Since becoming a part of the OCS community in 2019, Mrs. Newson has enjoyed teaching every grade in the school while supply teaching or in short term positions as a PE teacher, a primary homeroom teacher and in her current position as Librarian.

Ms. Loten first started at OCS as a JK student in 2003.  She returned to OCS in a staff capacity and is thrilled to be part of the OCS community again! She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and International Development from Laurier University, and a Bachelor of Education from Brock University.  She feels truly blessed to be able to serve and work alongside many of the staff members at OCS that were so impactful in her own academic and spiritual development.

Mrs. Burpee started working at OCS in September 2015 as an EA in the PK room. She received her Early Childhood Education diploma from Sheridan College as well as a diploma in “Advanced Studies in Special Needs” from Humber College.

Mrs. McKay joined OCS in 2018 and works as an Educational Assistant in the SK classroom. She graduated from George Brown College and now enjoys working with the SK class and with the supervision children.

Mrs. McKay started at OCS in 2020 as an EA in the preschool classroom after graduating with honours from Sheridan College’s Early Childhood Education program. Currently, Mrs. McKay is the EA for both grade 2 classrooms and coordinates our Supervision Program.

Everybody loves Jax! Our beloved school mascot is full of energy and pops up in our community just when needed most. JAX joined us in February 2019 and has been an important and irreplaceable part of our school community.
